Elizabeth Jonas, LMSW
Elizabeth Jonas, LMSW (New York) provides compassionate, trauma-informed therapy for young adults, adults, and couples. She believes that healing begins in a safe, collaborative relationship where clients feel genuinely seen, heard, and accepted. Her approach is warm, nonjudgmental, and strengths-based, helping clients build resilience while creating meaningful and lasting change.
Elizabeth works with individuals and couples navigating anxiety, depression, trauma, grief and loss, relationship challenges, life transitions, academic and career stress, burnout, and the lasting effects of sexual and interpersonal violence. She also has a special interest in supporting international clients, immigrants, and individuals adjusting to new cultures or environments. Having lived and worked in multiple countries herself, Elizabeth brings both professional expertise and personal insight into the complexities of identity, belonging, relocation, and cross-cultural experiences. She is fluent in English, Oshiwambo, and Afrikaans and enjoys working with clients from diverse cultural backgrounds.
Elizabeth's therapeutic style is collaborative and individualized, recognizing that every person and relationship has a unique story. She draws primarily from Narrative Therapy while integrating Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), mindfulness, and other evidence-based approaches to help clients better understand themselves, strengthen their relationships, and move toward the life they want.
Whether you're healing from past experiences, navigating a difficult transition, working through relationship concerns, experiencing anxiety or depression, or seeking healthier connections with yourself or your partner, Elizabeth is committed to providing a compassionate space where healing, growth, and self-discovery can flourish.
Elizabeth is a Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW) providing individual and relationship therapy under the supervision of Clinical Supervisor Cara Cole, LCSW
